Collision between lorry and a cyclist in Chelsea

23 September 2012

Description

Police are urging people to come forward following a collision between a cyclist and a lorry earlier this month.

Officers were called at approximately 09:45hrs on Thursday 13 September, to reports of a collision involving the cyclist and a Scania tipper lorry on Kings Road at the junction with Edith Grove, Chelsea.

Officers and London's Air Ambulance attended. A female cyclist, aged 34, was taken to a central London hospital.

She is still in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The 39-year-old driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and subsequently bailed to a date in October.

Officers believe because of the time of the collision there may have been many witnesses and wish to speak to them.

Witnesses are urged to contact Hampton Traffic unit on 020 8941 9011 with any information.
