Detectives from Waltham Forest are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious incident inside Abbotts Park, Leyton

On Wednesday 28 March 2012 at approximately 4:20pm, officers were called to Abbotts Park, Leyton to reports of a female injured

On police arrival, a 22 year old female was found with cuts and bruises to her arms and legs as well as cuts to her eye. She was conveyed to an East London hospital for treatment.

It is believed that the victim was walking in Abbotts Park when she was approached by suspect [1] and [2] who started talking with her. The victim refused to talk with them and walked away from the suspects. Shortly afterwards the suspects ran back and punched and kicked her.

On seeing the victim being assaulted, a number of people nearby came to her aid. The suspects are then believed to have fled Abbotts Park by the Abbotts Park Road exit and towards Skeltons Lane, E10.

A 15 year old male has been arrested in connection with this offence. He has been bailed till May 2012 pending further enquiries

Suspect [2] remains outstanding

Suspect [2] is described as a mixed race male, 18 - 20 years old, approximately 5’ 06” tall of medium build. He had short dark cropped hair cropped at the sides and longer on top, wearing grey hooded top and jeans.

The park was busy at the time of the assault and we believe there may have been other witnesses who may have seen what happened. Police are keen to speak to a female member of the public who spoke with the victim directly after the incident . We would urge her to contact us to help us with this investigation.
