Description

The mother of a boy murdered in Brixton on Thursday night has made an appeal for witnesses to talk to police.

Junior Nkwelle, 15, died on the Loughborough Estate in Brixton, SW9 after being stabbed in the chest on Thursday, 27 September.

Stella, Junior's mother, said: "I would like all of the kids who saw what happened to my son to come forward and speak to the police.

"I am pleading with the parents to let their children do that, and to support their children in telling the truth. If they do not it could lead to this happening again one day."

Detective Chief Inspector Charlie King, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: "I support Junior's mother's appeal for witnesses to come forward and for families to support each other in coming forward."

Anyone that may assist the inquiry should call the incident room on 020 8721 4054 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

+ A 14-year-old girl will appear in custody at Camberwell Green Youth Court on Monday 1 October accused of the murder of Junior Nkwelle.
