Description
A murder inquiry is underway after a death at a block of flats in Peckham.
Police were called to the address in Staveley Close SE15 shortly before 19.05hrs on Friday 7 September following reports of a man injured during a fight.
On arrival officers found a man aged 47 suffering multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.
He was taken to King's College Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 20.10hrs.
We await formal identification and next-of-kin.
A post-mortem will be held at 11.30hrs today (Saturday) at Greenwich mortuary.
An incident room has opened at Lewisham under DCI Graeme Gwyn (HSCC)
+ A man [A - 46 ys] was detained shortly afterwards in Old Kent Road and arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
