Description
A murder investigation has been launched following a death in Bexleyheath.
Police were called at approximately 22:25hrs on Wednesday 25 January following a burglary at an address in Barnehurst.
At approximately 22.00hrs the suspects entered a residential address, tied up the two occupants and stole some of their property.
Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although formal identification is yet to take place officers believe the deceased to be Edward Syrad, aged 64 (11.04.47). Next of kin are aware.
A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.
An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Cliff Lyons from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, and enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the incident.
DCI Lyons said: “One line of enquiry is burglary although at this early stage of the investigation we are keeping an open mind with regards to a motive. We would appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything, or has any information regarding this murder, to come forward and assist police.”
