Description

Police are appealing to the public to assist in identifying a person whose body was found floating in Greenland Dock, Rotherhithe, SE16 on Tuesday 18th September 2012.

Police were called to the dock at 4.40 PM on that day after members of the public saw the body in the water. The Metropolitan Police’s Marine Support Unit recovered the body. The deceased remains unidentified at this time.

Police have released an artistic impression of the deceased’s face in the hope that someone will recognise him as someone they know or have seen.

The deceased is described as being a black, giving the appearance of being aged about 35 years. He is described as being of 6’2” (1.89 metres) tall and of heavy build.

The body was fully clothed, wearing a black Tommy Hilfiger long-sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans with a belt, and black ‘Kangol’ slip on shoes.

Greenland Dock is situated near to Surrey Quays Shopping Centre and Surrey Quays and Canada Water underground stations. It is also served by Greenland Pier river boat terminal.
