We urge the public to come forward with information about who is dealing drugs or committing crime in their area.
- Do you know who may be dealing drugs?
- Do you know where drugs are being sold?
- Do you know where drugs are being grown or stored?
Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers, an independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Community information passed to us will be dealt with as quickly as possible and carefully assessed before, and if, any action is taken. We will then tell communities what action we have taken to address these issues.
With your help we can make your local community safer. You make the call, we’ll make it stop.

Cannabis farms
Cannabis farms can damage neighbourhoods. The Metropolitan Police Service wants to make people more aware of the consequences of cannabis farms. Some of the side effects including violent crime, money laundering, anti-social behaviour as well as being a fire hazard.
Possible signs to look out for include:
- Blacked out windows or heavy curtains taped down
- Powerful lights on all day or night
- Unusually high levels of security - windows bars or extra bolts or locks added
- Strong and unusual smells
- Discarded or empty bags of soil, plant pots, vegetable waste
- Discarded Lighting, fans, gas cylinders or ducting tubes - maybe seen protruding out of a window
- Re-wiring of electricity cable and wiring
- People coming and going throughout the day and night, taking property to and from the address
- Heavy traffic or people waiting in cars outside the property
Information to landlords:
- Rental payment for several months in advance being offered, particularly in cash
- Tendency to pay in cash combined with a lack of visible means of support
- Beware use of a `front couple` who appear genuine and take possession of the property but then disappear to be replaced by those responsible for growing the cannabis
- Being declined access to your property or restrictions to certain rooms only
- Requests to be met away from your property
- A sudden increase or decrease in electricity bills
- Signs of mildew, peeling wallpaper or paint caused by humidity
