Traffic Safety Camera Operations
This unit is responsible for the service delivery of all automated safety camera enforcement within the Metropolitan Police Service. A driver may be offered the opportunity to attend a Safety Awareness Course if they have exceeded the road speed by a narrow margin otherwise the normal course of action is to be offered a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty. This gives the driver two options, either to pay a fine of £100 (for offences committed from 16 August 2013) and surrender their driving licence for endorsement of 3 penalty points or to have the matter heard at court. Payment must be in full, as instalments can not be accepted.
If your enquiry relates to a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty where you have already submitted payment and your driving licence to Her Majesty’s Court and Tribunal Service and you have not received your licence back then contact Her Majesty's Court Tribunal Service (see contacts)
If you have received a Requisition to attend court relating to a safety camera activation you should contact the camera prosecution team who have sent you the documents or send an email to Camera Prosecution Enquires (see contacts)
Please note if your enquiry does not relate to any of the above and you wish to contact us then please provide the following information to enable us to assist you:
Either of the reference numbers shown on any of our correspondence
The registration number of the vehicle concerned
The date, time and place of the alleged offence
