Volunteer Police Cadets need adult volunteers
If you want to help change lives, develop your skills and have fun, then we have the perfect opportunity for you.
The Metropolitan Police Volunteer Police Cadets (VPC) is open to young people aged 13 to 18 years. Cadets are drawn from London’s diverse communities including those vulnerable to crime or social exclusion. In order to open up cadets for more young people we need to increase the number of adult volunteers. There are numerous opportunities including evenings, weekends, and daytime opportunities to assist the coordinators ensure the units run smoothly.
There are no specific skills required to volunteer with us, just plenty of enthusiasm. Volunteers will receive training to equip them to work within the programme, and no experience of policing is required either.
There are opportunities to gain qualifications and become involved in outdoors activities, competitions and London wide events. Recently cadets have helped with policing of the Royal Wedding, Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.
We are holding an event on Tuesday 23rd October at 6.30pm at New Scotland Yard, St James’ Park, for anyone over 18 who is interested in volunteering with us.
On the evening you will have the chance to meet some of our amazing cadets, find out about the recruitment process, ask any questions you may have and speak to existing volunteers who can tell you exactly what to expect when volunteering with the Volunteer Police Cadets.
Pre registration is required so if you would like to attend please email us or visit the Cadets site; see related contacts and links on this webpage.
