Lewisham is home to a vast population of young people and has undergone some regeneration with a shopping centre located in Lewisham High Street. The borough has a varied landscape with some leafy suburbs. Lewisham Police work closely with the local authority and other agencies such as the Lewisham Community Police Consultative Group to discuss aspects of policing, community safety and related issues which matter to the communities of Lewisham.

'You make the call, we'll make it stop' is the message to neighbours and bystanders who may hear domestic violence incidents taking place to the fact that by calling the police on 999 the police can intervene.
Cycle Task Force arrest two men and seize 10 bikes
Ten bikes, believed to be stolen, have been seized by the Metropolitan Police Service Safer Transport Command’s Cycle Task Force.
