Remembrance Sunday

This year's National Day of Remembrance falls on Sunday 11th November 2012 and there will be an event to mark the occasion in Whitehall.

Road closures will cause some disruption to local traffic but these will only be short-term.  The road closurs will occur in two distinct phases.

The first phase will involve the following roads being shut from 0600hrs:

All roads bordered within Whitehall, Northumberland Avenue,Victoria Embankment, Bridge Street and Parliament Street.

The second phase will involve the following roads being closed from 0815hrs:

All roads bordered within Northumberland Avenue, Victoria Embankment, Bridge Street, Parliament Square, St Margaret's Street, Abingdon Street, Millbank, Horseferry Road, Strutton Ground, Victoria Street, Bressenden Place, Lower Gosvenor Place, Grosvenor Place, Constitution Hill, The Mall, Marlborough Road.

In addition, there will be temporary traffic holds between 1055hrs and 1105hrs on the following roads:

Hyde Park Corner, Grosvenor Place, Lower Grosvenor Place, Grosvenor Gardens, Westminster Bridge, Victoria Embankment

All road closures will be removed at the earliest opportunity and, in any case, by early afternoon.
