East India & Lansbury prepare for fireworks season

East India and Lansbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team has been getting ahead of the game and are preparing for Fireworks night.
East India and Lansbury SNT arranged a meeting with the local London Fire Brigade and Poplar Harca.
"Planning in advance should insure a safe and enjoyable fireworks night for all."
In the meeting they discussed the plans for Fireworks night within the ward. They went through safety measures for all displays that will be taking place, whether official or unofficial. The tactics for any anti-social behaviour that may arise involving fireworks or surrounded displays, and the safety of children at this exciting time of year.
Langdon Park Schools officer, Mick Smith, will be holding an assembly for all the pupils advising them of the dangers in mishandling fireworks and staying safe.
East India and Lansbury SNT will be speaking to all shop keepers regarding the sale of fireworks as well as conducting patrols on and around fireworks night itself. Firework safety leaflets will be supplied to all the local residents giving advice and warnings.
