Find My iPad app leads arrests
07 September 2012
The latest crime solving device struck again when two police officers used the Find My iPad app to track down a stolen iPad.
Whilst on Olympic Cycle duty in Greenwich on 31.08.12 at approximately 17:30 hours two officers from Lewisham were approached by a member of the public whose iPad had been stolen from grounds of The Royal Naval College.
One of the officers used the free app on his phone to track the iPad to a flat near Creekside, Deptford. Once the location was pinpointed, the officer turned on the iPad's alarm which led them to the exact location of the missing gadget, which was recovered from its hiding place underneath a sofa.
A woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s were arrested.
No further action will be taken against the woman, the other suspect has been bailed pending further enquiries.
