Man arrested re Mitcham shooting

Detectives from the Trident Gang Crime Command investigating after three
police officers were shot at in Mitcham have arrested a man.
At approximately 20:40hrs on Tuesday 21 February the officers were on patrol at a block of flats in Morden Road when they stopped a man.
As the officers attempted to search the man he produced a firearm and ran off. As he ran off he turned and fired one shot in the direction of the officers.
No officers were injured by the shot - one sustained graze injuries from falling to the ground as the shot was fired, but did not require hospital treatment.
On Thursday 23 February, a man aged 19 years attended a south London police station and was arrested in connection with this inquiry.
