Operation Hawk Day of Action

This morning over eighty officers from Tower Hamlets gathered for the Operation Hawk day of action.
Local officers from the Safer Neighbourhoods Teams and the Borough Support Unit assembled to put together entry teams, search teams and reassurance teams.
"With a 40% hit rate on the addresses we had warrants for".
Ten addresses across the borough were targeted in the Met wide operation Hawk crack down on street level drug dealing.
By 10am this morning Tower Hamlets officers had carried out ten search warrants and arrested four people. All four were arrested for drug related offences and are currently in custody.
At one address a number of wraps of heroin and crack cocaine were found and seized by officers and one male was arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. At other addresses Cannabis was found and arrests for possession of cannabis were made.
Chief Inspector Nigel Nottidge, Tower Hamlets Safer Neighbourhoods Chief Inspector said; "What a great result. We had a 40% hit rate on the addresses we had warrants for, and we managed to take drugs off the streets."
