Queens Park Community School Sports Project
29 October 2012
On Friday 26th October, Queens Park Safer Neighbourhoods Team working in partnership with Ward Working, Brent Council and QPR launched the Queens Park Community School sports project. The project has been funded by Ward Working and will be funded for one year.
The project will run after school on as Monday and Friday with three coaches from QPR and with various activities taking place including football and dodge ball and table tennis. Queens Park Safer Neighbourhoods Team will be involved in the project and will be engaging with youths, building a rapport with them with the aim to steer them away from crime.
"This is a great project and all partners involved have worked hard to make this happen"
Sergeant Graeme Day from Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: This is a great project and all partners involved have worked hard to make this happen. It is only in its early stages but has already proved popular with pupils from the school with good numbers attending the sessions. By providing the young people with positive activities in a controlled and structured environment this will no doubt have long term benefits.
Matt Lock, QPR Inclusion & Diversity Manager said: “We are delighted to be a part of this new scheme in Queens Park, we are committed to providing positive activities to young people and delivering a project in Queens Park with our history makes this project extra special.”
