A loaded revolver was taken off the streets of London thanks to an operation by Trident officers on Tuesday 19 February.
Officers from the Trident Gang Crime Command North East Proactive Team conducted a search warrant at a residential address in Waterloo Close, Hackney.
"Trident will continue its efforts to take these weapons out of circulation."
The loaded revolver was recovered from within a wardrobe in a female occupier's bedroom.
A 14-year old girl was arrested and taken to Stoke Newington Police Station, awaiting further investigation.
Detective Inspector Steve Meechan from Trident said: "In light of the tragic events at the weekend, Officers are committed to tackling gun crime by holding to account those who chose to carry weapons and are involved in gang violence. Trident will continue its efforts to take these weapons out of circulation."
