Two arrested at Heathrow by counter terrorism officers

Warrants of further detention were granted on Thursday 11 October, at Westminster Magistrates' Court in respect a 26-year-old man [A] and a 26-year-old woman [B] arrested by the MPS Counter Terrorism Command on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
The warrant expires on Tuesday 16 October.
They were arrested at around 20.30hrs on Tuesday 9 October after arriving on a flight into Heathrow Airport, and taken to a central London police station where they currently remain in custody.
The arrests form part of an investigation into travel to Syria in support of alleged terrorist activity.
Officers executed two search warrants under the Terrorism Act 2000 in connection with this inquiry. The searches are ongoing at separate residential addresses in east London.
