The Directorate of Information (DoI) - provides information, communications and technology (ICT) services to the Metropolitan Police Service.
Our services cover:
- Technology and communications infrastructure
- Information management and security
- Information systems and services
- Emerging technologies
- Technology deployment in policing activities
- Delivery of major information and technology-enabled business change programmes
- Information strategy and policy
The Directorate is also responsible for the strategic development of the role of information, communications and technology (ICT) within policing in London.
ICT is fundamental to modern policing, and the DoI develops and delivers policies, processes, tools and services to help MPS staff manage, communicate and use information and technology effectively.
What We Do
The DoI provides Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) services that support all MPS staff and officers to add operational value, do their jobs more efficiently and deliver MPS objectives.

The Directorate of Information (DoI) develops and delivers ICT solutions and services to support MPS staff and add operational value.
Information Services
The Information Services Group is responsible for the delivery and access of information in support of Total Policing.
Major Change
The DoI Major Change group delivers a portfolio of programmes and projects to enhance the capability of the Met to fulfill its operational duties.
Deputy Director’s Portfolio Group
Deputy Director’s Portfolio Group plays a lead role in the DoI’s overall strategy development, delivery model and operational technology to support the Met’s corporate and policing aims.
