Project Kraken and Marine Watch
Marine Watch encourages those that live or work on or near the Thames or London’s other rivers and canals to report crimes and suspicious or anti-social behaviour. By watching out for each other we can help keep our waterways safe and pleasant.
About Project Kraken and Marine Watch
Project Kraken is a national police initiative endorsed by The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) designed to increase awareness and enhance engagement within the UK’s maritime communities and to help improve the identification and reporting of crime and suspicious behaviour.
The Metropolitan Police Marine Policing Unit has launched a Marine Watch Scheme as part of Project Kraken.
With our partners from other police forces, Port of London Authority, Environment Agency and Canal & River Trust we want to identify and reduce crime and other problems that may affect maritime communities.
Together we can make a difference.
How does it work?
It ensures that all enforcement agencies can work together with communities to make our rivers and waterways safe
