New police constable

We’re now actively recruiting new police constables for the MPS. Join us and you’ll soon be operating on the front line, supporting victims and witnesses, providing reassurance and instilling confidence.

Experienced officer

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)

PCSOs are key to how we engage with London's communities. Building bridges with the public, they are a reassuring presence, deterring crime and making a visible difference to people's lives.

  • You’ll focus on the needs of the community
  • You’ll interact and engage with the public
  • You’ll help create safer neighbourhoods
  • You’ll earn up to £27k a year

Police staff

There are over 13,000 members of police staff, carrying out 200+ different roles - from entry level positions to senior management.

Special constable

Special constables are volunteer police officers - everyday people who in their spare time do something positive for themselves and their community.

  • You’ll have the same powers as a regular police officer
  • You’ll volunteer at least 16 hours a month
  • You’ll make a real difference
  • You’ll wear the same uniform as regular officers

Met Police Volunteers (MPV)

The Met Police Volunteers programme gives volunteers the opportunity to support the MPS in making London the safest major city in the world.

You’ll lend your skills and free time

  • You’ll volunteer in the borough that you also live or work in
  • By giving back to your community, you’ll also gain valuable experience
